Target Audience
The audience we wish to aim our project at is based around the ages 18-30. An audience that are emotionally capable of viewing scenes of death and gore and also enjoy the thrill of being scared. We don't want the story line to be too complicated but complex enough that it holds a serious effect. So we want our audience to be intelligent enough to follow and piece together the story. The film may attract younger audiences such as teenagers because of scenes of blood and gore, but an age guidence will be applied. Using the JICNARs scale, we're targeting our specific social class at C2. Our classification model would be classed under 'Struggler'.
Research- Key Conventions
Looking at the key conventions of the films Kick-Ass, Brick, In Search Of A Midnight Kiss, Shifty and London To Brighton, we drew together some conclusions.
What all of the films had in common is that before any of the actors appeared on screen, the sponsors of the film and the production companies of the film are all displayed.
The scene setting then takes place and this is sets the narrative for the film for example in London to Brighton as time setting is shown.
The genres of the films were established and made clear throughout the opening title sequence. The majority of the opening title sequences included the names of the actors etc. layed in text over the top of a genre setting scene. The film Brick opens in a noire style of filming showing the audience that the narrative is based back in time. Kick-Ass begins with a series of clips with a narration from the main character, this style of opening is a way of allowing the audience to get to know the character before the story of the film begins.

Main Task
The main task of the production is to create research and planning of the title sequences in films, we therefore would create a two minute maximum introduction sequence for a fiction film and then evaluate the opening scene that we have created, all the video and audio material had to be that of our own and completely original.
